The Man of Great Contentment

He was never
A man of great stature
Never a man of great wealth
But he made the numbers add up
And for him that was enough

He was never
A man of great ambition
Never sailed the seven seas
But he saw more beauty
Out his living room window
Than others see
When its right in their face

He was never
A man of great learning
Never studied
In the halls of the wise
But he taught me more of life and love
When I saw the warm glow in his eyes

He was a man of great contentment
He was a man of inner joy
He was a man of quiet strength
He was a man who walked with God

And I am proud
That once they saw
The three of us
Together
Three generations
Of the same man
The man of great contentment
The man of great contentment
The man that I would be

for Blue Grandpa with love
